About Us

California DAR volunteering

Members of Feather River Chapter, NSDAR, like to say that the chapter is “small but mighty.” Meetings are held on the third Friday of each month, January through May and September through December. Interesting and informative programs about local activities and historical events are featured at each meeting. The highlight of the year is our Annual DAR Good Citizens Awards luncheon, when graduating seniors from area high schools are honored. Their parents and counselors are also invited to the luncheon.

A Prospective Member Workshop is held on the third Saturday in January. The chapter registrar is available at all meetings to assist prospective members with their application papers. She has taken many online genealogy classes and has been very successful in finding missing ancestors. Through her assistance and research, prospective members can complete their application papers for membership in the National Society.

Friendly members who enjoy working together and having fun while they support the DAR motto of “God, Home, and Country” attend chapter meetings. Any woman interested in joining this chapter should contact a chapter officer for more information.
